Amy Jessica Pilette//“AIM”//Amy J Lee//李堅慧, is a second-generation Chinese-Canadian immigrant raised and based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Amy is a street dancer, specializing in Popping & Boogaloo and is currently completing her undergraduate studies in Contemporary Dance/Computer Science at Concordia University. Additionally, she has had training in artistic gymnastics, Hip Hop, B-Boying, bone-breaking, and has presently begun her studies in Bruk Up. She uses her skills as a scientist and multidisciplinary visual/performing artist to create, experiment, and bridge the fields. As an artist for Compagnie Forward Movements, Amy has toured locally and internationally. She has also interned with Quest Crew in Los Angeles, California. Her work currently focuses on exploring identity, paradoxes, and indulging curiosities.

KAIA MIENNA

Kaia Mienna is from the Territory of the Nipissing First Nation, Anishnabek/North Bay, Ontario. Kaia grew up dancing/choreographing competitively and commercially. She has been awarded for both her choreography and dancing at provincial and national competitions. Additionally, Kaia has toured in Spain, with Barbara Treleaven School of Dancing, and has been invited to perform in Greece with the View Dance Challenge. She has also travelled to New York for a Broadway Dance Center scholarship. Choreographing since she was 13 years old, Kaia has been creating routines for competition, the International Baccalaureate program, and various independent works.

Claire Newbery is a dance artist from just outside Wolfville, Nova Scotia. With a diploma in Dance Performance from Holland College already under her belt, she is halfway through her program at Concordia University where she is studying Contemporary Dance. She possesses a deep love and passion for the creative process and all things improvisation, including contact improv and creative movement. Claire has had training with TDT, The Boston Conservatory, Gadfly, Nostos Collectives, Sion-Irwin Childs, Vladimir "7Starr" Laurore, as well as many accomplished dance figures from the Montreal area.

RAMEEZ KARIM

Rameez Karim is a Montreal-based choreographer trained in Bollywood, Indian semi-classical and folk. He has worked for/with artists such as Marc Dupré, Mia Martina, and Priyanka Chopra. Rameez has choreographed and performed for festivals including Quartiers DansesAcces Asie, Taste of the Caribbean, and Canada Pride. His work has been presented locally and internationally in Lisbon, Dubai, Mexico, and New York City. Rameez launched Veils of Bollywood in 2019 to elevate Bollywood and Indian dance representation in Montreal. His curiosities include spirituality, nature, mysticism, and queerness. He is pursuing a BFA at Concordia University majoring in Contemporary Dance.

ÉLÉONORE EMOND

Éléonore Emond-Fontaine is a Tiohtià:ke/Montreal based artist. She has a background in theater and music, but she chose contemporary dance. She studied dance at Saint-Laurent Cegep and is doing her BFA at Concordia University. She was the choreographer/ performer of Détour by the musician Djou. Éléonore often collaborates with Marie-Laurence Deschênes and Diego Cervantes, also students in the department. She is currently working on interpersonal relationships in order to create a three act piece to be produced in festivals but also to dig deeper into knowing oneself.

DIEGO CERVANTES

Born and raised in Mexico, Diego Cervantes is a versatile performer and choreographer. He has worked with, choreographed for, and trained a diverse spectrum of dance artists in Mexico City's contemporary scene. He has performed for Disney Latin America, Nickelodeon LAT, musical theatre productions, international festivals, short films, along with a few television commercials. Diego is currently pursuing a BFA in Contemporary Dance at Concordia University in Montreal. In addition to his studies, he is also currently a contracted dancer with the Veils of Bollywood dance collective based in Montreal. His interests lie in exploring human emotions and stories.

AUDREE HUTCHINSON

Audrée Hutchinson is a Montreal based dance artist currently attending Concordia University in Contemporary Dance and Sexuality Studies. Vancouver raised, she focused on Contemporary, Tap, Modern and Ballet just like her dancer mother. As a teen, she fell in love with choreography, touring her works in Europe at the age of 16. By 18 she was a company member of West Coast Choreography Labs and taught workshops to international professional dancers in Macau, China while performing there with DSdanse, the company she was co-directing. She has a deep love of partner work and ensemble pieces, being her two main focuses.

ERIN RAMENDA

Erin Ramenda was born in Toronto and raised in Ajax, Ontario. Erin has been a dancer for 11 years and has done all her training at The Dance Experience in Ajax. She has extensive competitive training in all types of dance including jazz, ballet, Hip hop, musical theatre, and contemporary. After having previously completed her studies at O’Neill Collegiate Vocational Institute Of The Arts, specializing in the performing arts, Erin is currently training at Concordia University to be a choreographer. She has choreographed a three time award winning trio titled, “missing you” in competitive dance. Erin is currently working on a piece about mental health and the real struggles/ effects it has on the body.

Kevin O’Connor (he/him/not only), born along the Deshkan Ziibi River (Ojibwe), in the city named London Ontario.  They are a multidisciplinary artist of Gaelic (Irish and Scottish) and Sicilian descent, working as a dance improviser, circus artist, and writer.  He is involved in a decade-long artistic collective, Sweet Labour Arts (Ruth Douthwright, Billy Jack and Montana Summers), exploring participatory de-colonizing performances within polluted watersheds in Ontario. Over the last 15 years he has also worked with NAKA dance in Oakland, Skywatchers in San Francisco, Oncogrrrls feminist art collective in Spain, and collaborated with Inuit hunter and designer Paulette Metuq on a project in Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic. Their current work called "TRY" opens in San Francisco (November 2021) with dance improvisors Ishmael Houston Jones, Keith Hennessy, Jose Abad and Snowflake Culvert. Through dancing, experimentation, and collaboration "TRY" will create a queer futurist encounter where race and masculinity are destabilized, and this queer instability is the ground for new forms of solidarity, desire, and community.  He holds a MFA in choreography and a PhD in Performance Studies from the University of California Davis.
